Terms of use & privacy
GlucoCalm is a personal record-keeping tool. Here is what that means in practice, written plainly rather than defensively.
1. Not a medical device
GlucoCalm records readings that you enter. It does not measure anything itself, does not diagnose, and does not give medical advice. Nothing in the app should replace the judgement of a qualified healthcare professional. Always follow the guidance of your own clinician, and seek urgent medical help when you need it.
2. Your data
Every reading you enter is stored on your own device. GlucoCalm has no servers to receive it. There is no account, no synchronisation, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking.
The one exception is this website, not the app: when you tap a download button, the site records the fact that a download happened — a date and a number. It does not record your IP address, your device, or where you came from. Those figures are visible only to the person running the site.
Because your readings never leave the device, losing the phone means losing the data unless you have made a backup. GlucoCalm can export a PDF or CSV report and save a full JSON backup, but that is your copy to keep safe.
3. No accounts
There is nothing to register for and no password to choose. If you forget a reading, it is gone. If you uninstall the app, it is gone. Uninstalling does not delete your backups, and the app cannot read them.
4. Your responsibility
GlucoCalm is a tool you operate. You are responsible for the readings you enter and for checking them before showing them to a clinician. Do not use the app to make treatment decisions on your own, and do not use it in an emergency.
5. Downloads and updates
GlucoCalm is distributed as an Android application package (APK) directly from this site rather than through an app store. Installing it means allowing your device to install apps from your browser, which Android will ask you to confirm the first time.
New versions are published on this site. The app does not update itself, so check back periodically, or install again over the top of the existing version to upgrade — your data is unaffected either way.
6. Availability
GlucoCalm is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. It may change, and features may be removed. There is no service level to rely on, because there is no server to go down.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the author of GlucoCalm is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, including lost readings, lost backups, or decisions made in reliance on the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusion applies only as far as permitted.
8. Changes
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The version and date at the top of the app's Settings screen always show what you have. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
9. Contact
Questions, corrections or complaints about these terms are welcome via the links in the footer of this site.
